Which is better, The Vampire or the Wizard?
This is the question inside me when i finished reading 5 books from J.K. Rowlings' Harry Potter and 4 books from Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series.
I had a hard time choosing whether Edward or Harry is the best.
I asked some of my friends in twitter and plurk if what are their views about this celebrity-match of mine.
Results are, most of my friends in Twitter said that they like the Harry Potter story perce. Same as my plurkmates! even Ms. Alodia Gosiengfiao (cosplayer, blogger & designer)
said that she like HP than Twilight. Sombody even said that "I like Harry than Cullen. Siguro kung mejo may edad na ako at hopless romantic na, maybe i'l choose Edward!".
And as I go to my (eheem.. ) Self research, 7/10 teanagers ages 13-18y/o would rather go flying with Harry than jump around the forest with Edward.
Well for me, I'm not a hater of Twilight. Infact, I bought one of the books. Twilight series is one of the Biggest and most successful novels ever made. I thank Stephenie Meyer for giving us such a wonderful story of a human-vampire Love story. But im sorry to say that im a Harry Potter fan. Although I don't have any copy of the books, I still spend money just to watch it in theaters.
For me, Harry Potter has this magic within it. It deals with real issues (this time, it's in the fantasy setting). Sometimes I see my self in one of the characters, sometimes I even see my self in the character of Harry not like in Twilight, I just dont see my self there. I cant be a person who's skin is pale, tale and has this romantic eyes like Edward has.
Going back in the Harry Potter story, Harry is not really that "cute" or "hunk" like Daniel Radcliffe. In fact, in the bookm Harry is a kid who's always been bullied because of his looks and appearance but he still manage to continue living as the chosen one together with his friends.
Guys, don't get me wrong. It was just my opinion and i respect your own too..
But for me, the Wizard dominated the Vampire.
